This painting is about the transformation of my body and mind as a result of pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding. After a challenging day I sat down to draw my body in fall of 2019. I spread my paper out on the floor, selected purples and blues, and drew while talking to my husband and a teacher friend. I set the drawing aside. Two years later, I pulled the drawing back out and noticed how much my body and mind had changed after pregnancy and throughout motherhood. I went back into this painting with orange, pink, and fuchsia. My cat Krasner helped me determine where some turquoise needed to appear and embedded the painting a sense of humor.
